This year’s Hazards conference will include sessions on:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act at 50 – is it fit for purpose and what needs to change? Speakers include Shelly Asquith, Rob Miguel and Phil Liptrott
  • Climate and workers’ health and safety – the challenges of extreme weather and the impact on workers Speakers include Prof. David Whyte, Sam Mason and Sanjiv Padita
  • Making the case for mentally healthy work – taking a preventative, supportive and positive approach in the workplace and campaigning on work related suicide
  • Bad work injures and kills – using collective pressure and championing safety reps with Dave Smith, Vicky B

Again this year, we will be awarding certificates to great health and safety campaigns and calling out the bad employers on health and safety, so if you want to nominate someone please let me know.

In addition to the plenary sessions there are some great workshops where you can learn new skills and knowledge and fringe meetings on topical issues affecting workers, fantastic networking opportunities across unions, sectors and geographical areas and an opportunity to speak to national as well as local health and safety officers, solicitors, campaigners and activists.
